Christmas & New Years 2015

Welcome home from California!

This was one of 5 or 6 snow days this winter.

Good news for some, not for others

Papa came to cheer us up

nothing soothes us quite like Papa's lullabyes!

Ruthie wanted a turn too

Papa does the best storytimes... even better without the books!

Braces! We get them free through Comfort Dental, so we gave Ruth the option. I was happy to have a braces buddy, but sad to think of her cute front teeth loosing their flare

nowhere to put braces on this one yet

We decided to try the 4 gift rule... something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read. And something from Santa. It was great! Simplicity!

It helped us be more thoughtful with the 4 gifts we gave.

I used that guide for Sloan's gifts too. Thankfully he loved his camping guide to Colorado, new workout briefs, "Inside Out", Where's Waldo (something he needed), and indoor basketball hoop arcade.  So romantic, I know.

this guy catching on to reading

It was a sweet, peaceful morning. But it didn't last long because we had flights to catch for Salt Lake to be with Sloan's family. Unfortunately, Sloan, Ruth & Reggie missed their flights because the Frontier Airlines app didn't work for them at security like they needed it to. So they got in the truck and drove!

The Wrights, Killians and Sloan's brothers were there.

Clayne had flown up solo from Mesa because Clayne Sr. had invited his aunt and uncle, brothers and sister to come have a family history night. We got to visit with these sweet older relatives and hear stories about their mutual ancestors.

Wonderful food and dinner conversations

Our gift for Gpa & Gma was a Robison Reunions photo book of the last 12 years. I had been working on it for several months, sifting through thousands of photos, and gathering stories and excerpts from the family. It was an overwhelming venture, but worth it to see them enjoy it so thoroughly.

Here's a digital copy:

Precious Grandpa time

Enriching Grandma time

The kids and I stayed a couple days longer once everyone (including Sloan), went home. Gpa & gma treated us to burgers one night. Fun to have them all to ourselves.

my replacement bed buddy -not exactly an improvement

New Year's Eve - time to head home

Just in time for a fun Sushi-making New Years party at the Tingeys.

Goodbye 2015 - you gave us a summer of camping, a comfy new house, and a peaceful new baby. Thanks to Heavenly Father for keeping us safe and providing us with support through these momentous changes.

What a year!
