Blakely 2015 - the Banner yet Waves

Blakely does serenity and peaceful isolation so well, it makes no sense to go there during the busiest time of the year - 4th of July weekend. But it lined up with Papa & Dodie taking the boys while we moved, and getting to see lots of family, including Nonie, so that's when we went!

Ruth's week-long only-child bliss was coming to an end, but she was ready to fly

and water taxi

first stop - Nonie's for hugs & donuts

and Papa's for rides

bonus!  Jerica, Tyler, Hawkin & Riley were there too!

Tyler - so festive

Annual July 4th BBQ at the Marina - fun to catch up with friends I grew up with (the Leadys, Shanimans, O'Briens, Dane Springmeyer). Reggie got his groove on, too.

happy birthday Chris!

Reggie's cousin crush - Riley

Sloan & the kids sneaking out for ice cream

Ruth's daily sneak out to go over to Nonie's to play card games.
Nonie sadly broke her arm when her dog ran after a dear while she was holding her leash. Ruth really loved getting to spend time with her (hard to believe she's her great-grandma!).

Reggie trying to get his game on, too

Lake time!

Luke on the lookout

the view from the deck never disappoints. you may see sailboats, ferries, whales, dolphins, or eagles bringing in a catch...

view from downstairs

Up to the peak for the sunset. The kids made it a little less than romantic with the discovery of black pixie dust

Sloan & Tyler's crew had to go back Monday for work. The kids & I stayed a couple more days. Papa & Dodie took us to lunch at East Sound

Then Papa & Dodie left too. Just me & my posse'. We spent our time visiting with Nonie and playing on the beach.

the North Beach trail... I remember when it was just sea grass leading up to the waterfront and Lindy Springmeyer lead the effort to get little trees planted along the shore. I couldn't see her vision then, but she was right on - it's beautiful.

Luke ready for take-off

I'm so glad they're friends

visiting Great-great gma Meme in Woodinville

the boys were perfect angels

Meme was a good sport

She's 2 weeks from turning 100 - super woman!

stopping to see the Gee's (Sloan's big sister) in Bellevue on our way to the airport

sadly, slug shriveled up into a raisin & died by the time we got to SEA Tac  (hallelujah)

Thanks Papa & Dodie for another magical week on Blakely!
