By May, I was out of the first trimester and the weather was picking up,
so life was feeling brighter.
Sloan got tickets to the circus through work, so we took R&R.
When these two get along - we get out the camera!
The circus was fun, but the real show was at home...
my last time hosting joy school with this cute crew
mall date
tulips from dad
Reggie's picture for Luvy
2nd grade planting day. Somehow I was put in charge of coordinating all the parent volunteers. It was intimidating, but went fine in the end.
swimming at the rec center
Another date with mom - pizza & movie night
We usually do movie & pizza night at home, but this week home was in the Sam's Club parking lot while our house was on the market (I figured this would be easier than keeping the house clean!)
awesome backyard
Nature & Science Museum. Reggie wore these glasses/nose/mustache set EVERYWHERE for days
Children's Museum
Pulled out of the Sam's Club parking lot & made our way to
Sand Dunes National Park
The views there were spectacular. And the weather was volatile! Once the wind died down, we made our way across the cold, wide stream that separates the parking lot from the sand dunes, crossed the sharp, long stretch of sand before the hills, then started to play. But within minutes a strong wind started pelting us with sand, and then rain and hail! We ran for cover... across the long stretch & through the cold stream, back to the trailer. And that was enough for me!
I spent the rest of the day on the parking lot side of the stream
Which had the best views anyway
That evening we had dinner with the Lameroux's at a great little Mexican place
And we all needed baths
The next morning
Short hike up to the falls
We then spent some time at the visitor's center and back at the dunes.
That afternoon we all hit the hot springs at our RV park.
Georgia & Ruth on the diving boards
goggles on the gargoyle (say that 5 times fast!)
hot dogs & s'mores
boys gotta have their tube time
thanks to this handsome guy for making it all happen
including this!
ready to go - stage 2 of the trip... down to Santa Fe
art galleries
old churches
and strolling around downtown
dancing to accordians
and trying the local fare
hail to Santa Fe - we like you!
Back home (with an offer on the house, yay!), to help with weeding/gardening at the school
and catching up with Ruth at field day
Memorial Day - pools open! Luke, George, Reggie, Oliver
Ruth & Marta
Ruth trying to be a good sister, teaching Reggie his letters...
can't say she didn't try!?
