Life of a 4th...
We were in Maui for Drew's 1st birthday, so we celebrated when we got home.

Sloan helps out in Reggie's class every week or two, and has developed a friendship with one of the more rambunctious boys, Kaiwan
Not a sandwich without mayo

Sloan & Ruth went to a DU Women's Basketball Game & had access to the pre-game talk

So exciting for our little baller!

These 3 playing together is photo worthy

Primary program at church - we were actually ready for this one!

Luke wins :)

Bedtime's the best time

Brooke Russell, one of Aja's best friends from high school, was in town for work and came to visit.  The kids adored her.  She had us all giggling through dinner -sad to only have one lousy picture :(

pretty morning runs continue... yay for a warm fall!

Voodoo donut party for wonderful Caitlin

One of my volunteer jobs this year is being the Box Tops Coordinator for Swigert.  Sounded fun & easy when I signed up. But after the classroom contest, I personally ended up counting 20,000 Box Tops because no one came to my counting party :( About 8,000 of them were expired (as expired as 2002), so I mailed in 12,000. Which earned $1,200 for Swigert! But about cost me my sanity!

This is the winning classroom's magic show and pizza party

Ruth was starting to talk quite a bit about her classmate Noah, even admitting she might have a crush.  Sloan and I took turns going to meet him during lunch. We later laughed at how disarmingly cool he was.

He won me over. Especially once they showed me their synchronized swing routine.
tell me that's not the cutest elementary school crush you've ever seen!

Even within the rigid parameters of school uniforms, he finds a way to express himself through fashion

Reggie's energetic, diverse, Spanish immersed K/1 class

Sloan celebrating Ramsey's birthday with the cross-fit crew

then Darlingside with me

They're an indie band from Cambridge Sloan found about a year ago
Their songs are so beautiful it makes us not want to create music anymore!  Their sound is so clear & penetrating... refreshingly pure, sweet and melodious. Lyrics are uplifting and meaningful, but not overly emotional. Highly recommend!

Sloan took the kids on their annual Thanksgiving dinner deliveries for Bruce Randolf's organization

Then a playdate with Reggie's new friend Eli

Mommy-daughter date to Cherry Creek Mall & Young Ambassadors!

Soooo cheesy! You wanna cringe, but you can't help but smile with them!

Monday morning of Thanksgiving week, the Shuman's were in town & stopped by to see us on their way to Boulder.  We were buddies in Phoenix when Ruth was a baby & they didn't have kids yet.  My, have we multiplied!

getting a little more courage!

not sure what to do with all this time off!

here we go... Spy Kid goggles

for eyes and ears

a couple days of Sports Camp and soccer at Bladium - they actually loved it. So did I!

Denver Art Museum

We had a fun day here - my first visit!  Sloan kept teasing the kids about the museum being haunted, so they were spooked throughout the exhibits.
The kid area is amazing! We hung out there a couple hours

playing Guess Who

making Samurai helmets

and crawling over the coffee tables

Thanksgiving morning, I went for a run and found an owl on our neighbor's roof!  It was magnificent!

Home for dinner prep

then Sloan invited a few families to meet us at the church to play games

Then home for Thanksgiving with the Rowses
Jordan brought 4-5 gourmet sides and frozen chocolate mousse pie that blew us away!  Plus my rolls & sides and Sloan's smoked turkey... heavenly feast!

 love birds Bianca & Luke

We loved getting to know Jordan and Tim better. We had an hour or so of uninterrupted adult conversation!  Little did we know what was going on downstairs...

Sad goodbye to such a romantic evening

The next day we met up with the Shumans in Louisville for ice skating
