July 2016

Home from South Dakota, fresh from Rushmore, we were ready for the 4th of July festivities

Started at the church for the annual pancake breakfast and flag ceremony

Then Ruth & Sloan went to help with cleanup at the swim team breakfast

home for yard work and trellis painting

and watermelon'

Meanwhile, Reggie was on his way to the island

That evening we met friends for a picnic at Crestmoor Park

Ruth worked hard all winter/spring to earn money for summer camps.
This is the long-waited Mindcraft LEGO camp

Luke's first day on training wheels

9 month Drew getting his army crawl on

Samuel's dad is a refugee and works during the day, so ward families take turns having him over during summer days.  He's delightful.

We took Ruth to see "The BFG".
We thought Luke would be too scared, so we took him to the theater's childcare (brilliant!)

slowly but surely...

nailed it!

at least Drew thought so

nostalgic for London (Luvy)...

more LEGO camp

Ruth doing some songwriting

and yo-yoing

and 4-squaring after a Popsicle party at the Lameroux's

Fitness on the Rocks
Oh ya, bring on the group fitness!!

It was crowded and loud, but the scenery divine

We were there to support our buddy Katie (to my right) - who's a killer Les Mills instructor & lead the Body Combat class

Checkin' in on the Reggers

home cookin (sweet potato lasagne-mmm)

and flax bran apple carrot honey muffins

hey drew!

Sloan & the boys at Ruth's swim meet

Hiking Mt. Evans with Sloan, Ruth, Drew and Ruth's friend Ashley

the gorgeous starts immediately

But so did the steep incline and breathlessness. This was the girls' and my first 14'er, so thankfully Sloan was there to cheer us on

it helped for a bit

But after the first summit, Ruth was done. Sloan walked with her back to the car, and Ashley and I kept going. This is one of two 14'rs you can drive to the summit! So I was happy to know I wouldn't have to do a decent. And Ashley was a trooper.

babies!

back to where we started

then Whole Foods

That night we had tickets to a special Robot Exhibit at the DMNS

So fun to see Ruth's enthusiasm for technology!

the next morning we got our big brother back

patty cake!?

Romantic night at Fiddler's Green enjoying quirky Lyle Lovett with our neighbors, Amanda & Byron

Trying out the fountains in Northfield with the Rowse kids

proud of his soccer stamps

keeping up the doggie cleanup - when she got out she asked "Mom, does this look weird?"

on the way home from softball

on the way to all-sports camp with the neighborhood boys

His feet are growing so fast! He outgrew his new tennies, so he was wearing some old ones with no tread. Poor guy (builds character, right?).

tennis camp with Alex

T-ball for Reg (I know, our activities are a little overboard, but it was for the best! Our kids have this much energy)

and some to spare!

our new heavenly sitter Hannah

This brings me such joy. I can't explain it.

This brings me panic

here we go

an eventful ortho visit... Ruth lost a tooth while they were changing her bands

no pain, no gain!

My 6am tria-thelon swim training was getting much easier (as in ... I could finally do a 50!) Reggie came one morning to watch and took some pictures. This is a funny shot, but I want to remember!

first harvest
